Sheriff Daniel T. McEathron
Danny McEathron has served as the Sheriff of Warren County, Virginia since 2004. His career with the Warren County Sheriff’s Office began in 1982 as a jailor. He served as the Sheriff’s Office narcotic and patrol K-9 unit for 20 years. While working in the patrol division, Danny was also assigned to the Northwest Virginia Narcotics Task Force as an investigator before being promoted to Patrol Sergeant and served 18 years on the Special Operations team as well as Commander. In 2002, Danny was promoted to Captain overseeing the Law Enforcement Division. He served in that capacity until being elected sheriff in 2003.
McEathron leads an office of over 92 members and manages services consisting of Court Holding, Civil Process, Courthouse Security, E-911 Communications, Animal Control, Patrol, Investigations, and Law Enforcement services.
Sheriff McEathron has served on several local community boards, including United Way and St. Luke Community Clinic. He has served as a council member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, as president of the Warren County Babe Ruth Baseball League and was a past at-large board member of the Warren County Rotary. Sheriff McEathron was a member of the Warren Memorial Hospital Board of Trustees, Virginia Sheriff's Association Board member and Legislative Committee past member. He has also served as an executive board member of the Rappahannock Regional Criminal Justice Training Academy. Currently Sheriff McEatheron serves on the Warren County Youth Advisory Board, is a Valley Health Corporation Member and is Chairman of the newly formed Skyline Regional Criminal Justice Academy. In 2016, he was appointed to a second two year term to serve as chairman of the Northwest Virginia Regional Drug and Gang Task Force.
