Danny McEathron has served as the Sheriff of Warren County, Virginia since 2004. His career with the Warren County Sheriff’s Office began in 1982 as a jailor. He served as the Sheriff’s Office narcotic and patrol K-9 unit for 20 years. While working in the patrol division, Danny was also assigned to the Northwest Virginia Narcotics Task Force as an investigator before being promoted to Patrol Sergeant. In 2002, Danny was promoted to Captain overseeing the Law Enforcement Division. He served in that capacity until being elected sheriff in 2003.

McEathron leads an office of over 110 members and manages a full service sheriff’s office, consisting of Corrections, Civil Process, Courthouse Security, E-911 Communications, Animal Control, and Law Enforcement services.

Sheriff McEathron has served on several local community boards, including United Way and St. Luke Community Clinic. He has served as a council member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and has served as president of the Warren County Babe Ruth Baseball League. He currently serves as a board member of the Rappahannock Regional Criminal Justice Training Academy. In 2009, he was appointed to a two year term to serve as chairman of the Northwest Virginia Regional Drug and Gang Task Forces.

Sheriff McEathron and his wife, Donna, have been married since 1983. They have two children, Elijah and Alayna, who are actively involved in school sports and horseback riding. Danny enjoys time spent with his family. His hobbies include construction and classic cars.
