On Monday, August 15, 2011 the Warren County Sheriff’s Office received information relating to the identity of the subject responsible for the August 12, 2011 robbery of the Wood Forest Bank located inside of Walmart in Warren County.
According to Sheriff Daniel T. McEathron the lead resulted in the positive identification of Damon Stanley Robinson, 38, of 2813 Lindin Way, Woodstock, Maryland, as the alleged suspect in the case. The Warren County Sheriff’s Office coordinated with the Howard County Sheriff’s Office in Maryland when it was discovered that Robinson was wanted by Howard County on an unrelated charge.
Robinson surrendered himself to the Howard County Sheriff’s Office on Monday and was taken into custody on the existing Howard County charge. He is currently being held in the Howard County Correctional facility and awaits extradition proceedings on the robbery charge filed by the Warren County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff McEathron advised that the media played an important role in the investigation and the eventual identification of the suspect.
