Criminal Investigations Division (CID)
The Criminal Investigations Division (CID) is responsible for investigating major crimes, specializing in crimes against persons/children, property crimes, fire investigations, violent crimes, homicides, serious misdemeanor crimes and any other offenses as needed. Criminal Investigations Division (CID) provided investigative assistance and guidance to other divisions within the office as well as to surrounding agencies. The Criminal Investigation Division is overseen by a two lieutenants.
Criminal Investigations Division (CID) houses a Crime Analyst who is responsible for intelligence gathering and information sharing.
Six Investigators are dedicated to a Special Problems and Drug Enforcement Unit (SPADE) within the Criminal Investigations Division (CID) that handle narcotic, gang and human trafficking investigations. One of those Investigators is also a drug K‑9 handler.
Criminal Investigations Division (CID) maintains working relationships with multiple State, Federal and local task force entities that target specific criminal activity.
School Recourse Officer (SRO)
The School Recourse Officer (SRO) Unit is a community policing based approach practiced within the school environment. School Resource Officer (SRO) share their expertise through presentations in the classroom to promote and educate a better understanding of laws and the legal system. They are able to provide legal guidance to parents, teachers, faculty, students and they act as a link to services both inside and outside the school. The School Recourse Officer (SRO) Unit is overseen by one sergeant and the (CID) lieutenant.
