Update on Sarah Genari Case - May 18, 2018
Warren County, VA - The Warren County Sheriff’s Office and the Office of the Chief Medical examiner have determined the manner of death to be a suicide. Sheriff McEathron and the Sheriff’s Office express our condolences to the family and friends of Sarah. The Sheriff’s Office also asks for the media and community to provide the Genari family privacy for bereavement during this difficult time.

Sexual Assault May 14, 2018
Warren County, VA - On May 13, 2018 at approximately 5am, deputies from the Warren County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Gooney Creek Campground for a report of a sexual assault. Baterdene Batjargal, 21 years old, from Arlington, VA, was arrested. Baterdene was charged with 18.2-61 Rape and 18.2-186.3 Identity Theft (Providing False ID). Baterdene is held without bond and is currently at RSW Regional Jail. Sarah Rose Genari - May 10, 2018
Warren County, VA - It is with heavy hearts that the Warren County Sheriff’s Office reports that human remains were found May 8th, 2018 at approximately 2pm, during a search in the Granny Smith Road area of Apple Mountain. The remains were identified by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner as those of missing juvenile, Sarah Genari. Sheriff McEathron and the Sheriff’s Office would like to give our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Sarah.
The following agencies assisted the Warren County Sheriff’s Office on May 8th, 2018; Dogs East, Fauquier County Sheriff’s Office, Frederick County Sheriff’s Office, Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office, Prince William County Police Department, and the Virginia State Police. The investigation is ongoing however the Sheriff’s Office wants to ensure the community that this appears to be an isolated incident and there is no threat to public safety. Sarah Rose Genari - UPDATE
Warren County, VA - On April 27, 2018 the Warren County Sheriff’s Office issued a press release seeking information on the whereabouts of Sarah Rose Genari, 16 year old white female. She was described as being 5’7” 106 lbs with hazel eyes and brown hair with highlighted tips. Sarah was last seen in the Apple Mountain area of Warren County on April 26, 2018 around 10:00 P.M. Sarah was last seen wearing a black sweatshirt and any other clothing description is unknown.
During the course of trying to locate Sarah the Warren County Sheriff’s Office conducted searches of the Apple Mountain area. The following searches were conducted: K-9, ground, air, water and thermal imaging devices with the assistance of the following agencies.

- Linden Volunteer Fire Department
- Shenandoah Mountain Rescue Group (SMRG)
- Blue and Grey Search and Rescue

- Stephens City Volunteer Fire Rescue
- Shenandoah Shores Fire Department
- Shenandoah Mountain Rescue Group
- Clarke County Sheriff’s Office
- Front Royal Police Department
- Search and Rescue Tracking Institute (SARTI)
- Fauquier County Sheriff’s Office
- Piedmont Search and Rescue
- Rivermont Fire Department

- Fairfax County Police Department
- Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office
Searches were suspended at nightfall on May 1, 2018. The Warren County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank everyone for their assistance in searching this area for anything related to Sarah’s whereabouts.
The Warren County Sheriff’s Office is still seeking information in reference to Sarah’s whereabouts. Despite all efforts, at this time Sarah has not been located. Warren County, VA - The Warren County Sheriff’s Office is currently seeking information on the whereabouts of Sarah Rose Genari, 17 year old white female. She is described as being 5ft 7in, weight is 106 lbs with hazel eyes and brown highlighted hair. Sarah was last seen in the Apple Mountain area of Warren County last night, April 26th, around 10pm. It was reported that Sarah walked off from her residence. Sarah was last seen wearing a black sweat shirt, any other clothing description is not known.
